Getting a lot of bruises in just 2 hours...BAD FARMERS!!!

I woke up at 6 o’clock in the morning and charlotte too as we don’t have mom Irmgard anymore to prepare the breakfast for us so we had to prepare everything alone. Charlotte went to buy some bread and some jam to have for breakfast while I prepared some Arabic coffee and filter coffee, the others woke up at 7:30, had some breakfast, thanks to Rengo farm who donated for us as much as we need milk, also they donated for us tomato and cucumber. After that we had a meeting in the nice balcony of the school, Fiona told us what exactly the program for today then we had some discussions about what we are going to talk and tell the children in the school when we meet them in their classes as we were invited to attend their classes and talk to them about our culture and our situation. It was an interesting discussion. Jacob, Claudius and Katharine took the others to a tour in the school, because it is a really big school, they had a lot of fun they even entered some classes and watched what the students are doing, while I was preparing some food for lunch and Charlotte was out to the market again to have some shopping. We had some kind of salad (banjar salad), some smashed potato from the left over potato and some cheese, I think they didn’t like it so much, hehehehe as they needed real lunch heavy one with some meat, but sorry we couldn’t make it for the first day, maybe next days. At 2.30 we went to Helchen Farm, 40 min away, to work there and help the farmers and then get some food instead of money. We went there but we didn’t know what exactly work we were going to do but anyway we were very exited about it. We arrived there and all what you could see green field nothing else no streets, no houses, nothing at all. We were introduced to the work that we are going to do and it was cleaning the carrot field by taking off the grass and the spikes from the carrots field. So first we had to lie on our stomachs and our faces acing the ground but a little bit high from the ground on a lifter. A farmer from there drove the trucktor and we started working. There was a lot of bees a lot of mosquito’s and a lot of wild flies. I had an accident while working, I was trying to fight with a big wild fly and I hit my nose in the edge of the wooden stage that we were sitting on, I just felt as if my nose was broken, it really hurt me a lot and it started pressuring on my teeth, but the work and the fun of this work just let me forgot any pain I had, the trucktor driver went home and we stayed without a driver so they let me drive it.I had so much fun believe me . After two hours working in this farm we went to the farmer house to get our food, they gave us some beans, pigs mixed with cows sausages, cabbage, tomato and cucumber. We took the stuff back to the school and we found out that the other part of the group had already left to the lake and they left for us a message telling us: “ we are waiting you guys in the park, Annie, Feras, Motasem”. They are the other group that were in Switzerland. We went to the park and it was very nice to see all the group together playing swimming and talking. While we were sitting we discovered that all the people that went to work in the farm (Martha, Katharine, Anna, Charlotte, Bilal, Ahmad, Majd, Gadi, Me "Amira") had bruises in their hands from working in the farm you should see us, we got bruises in the same place. Anyway we had a nice time together and one visitor also joined us, Pablo, Anna’s brother, he is such a nice guy. We went back to the school and we had meeting, some of us were very hungry and prepared some food to eat. Claudius and Jacob made us a surprise it was the arrival of Samuel another germany friend who was in walk your talk conference, everybody were very happy and we stayed late talking and laughing…..SABABA!!!!!! the guy in the picture is Pablo!!!!

;-) NO TITLE hahahahaha

After a long night of having fun and dancing, we woke up on the sound of a some wood machine, and there was dad Peter working in his workshop preparing some wood to build an organ as he is an organist builder. However we had coffee with the neighbours, Nadia and Alex outside in the garden. When we finished they prepared for us some work to do because we have already asked them so, it was cleaning the garden that was full of second hand wood that need to be cleaned from needles all over again. Alex, Majd and I worked on taking of the needles out of the wood, Bilal and Ahmad worked in tidying up the room where they put the extra wood from work, Claudius helped us in many things also, Jacob moved the wood from the workshop to the room where Bilal and Ahmad where, daddy Peter worked in the workshop, Ramona a friend of the family helped mom Irmgard in ironing the cloth, mom Irmgard prepared food and washed our cloth, believe me she is an amazing woman just like our MOM’s at home and finally, Anna and Katharine went to pick up a new participant from the train station, Gade an Israeli friend from Kibbuts Harduf. After really a long morning of hard working, we had a delicious lunch, boiled potato, butter, some fried rice and salad. As we didn’t finish our work in wood, we didn’t take a nap or rest after lunch we just went and continued our work in wood followed at the end with a delicious cake, ice cream, Arabic coffee that we brought from Palestine and some Germany filter coffee. At about five o’clock we prepared ourselves and our stuff to move to the Waldorf school where we are going to spend the next week. Demona’s mother came also to pick us up, thanks to her and we just moved and put our stuff in the school and went to the lake to swim. I bet you know how it feels to go to swim in cold water after a long day of working under the hot sun. when we went back to school we had to prepare some food because we were really hungry, and thanks to Heggelpach farm who donated for us a lot of potato’s, banjar, onions and laddes (kinds of vegetables). I prepared some salad and boiled potato and we gathered together to eat and end the day.

Its raining.....no more BBQ :(

17 July 2007

We woke up and the breakfast was already ready and waiting for us, European breakfast. Then we brought the dorbakkeh, Arabic drums, and we sang Arabic and Palestinian songs for Fayrooz a famous Lebanese singer, Alex and Nadia joined us and another visitor, it was so nice. After that we went to the lake to do some shopping, Bilal, Ahmad and I. we spent two hours alone there until Fiona and Katharine came and took us to have lunch, we had Asian food, yam yam. After that we went to the church and there we met children aged 14 and 15 who had a religion class with the priest of the church. We had really good time with them, we taught them dabka, the Palestinian traditional and folklore dancing and we talked to them about the history of dabka, then I talked a little bit about the situation in Palestine and Israel, it was nice to let these children know what is really going on and not like the media shows. We left the church and went to the lake and swam and had more shopping. When we went back home at night we decided to have BBQ so dad peter with some new friends from Germany prepared the fire for us and we put all the stuff around the fire and some durbakkeh rhythms, but unfortunately it started raining OOOPSSSS!!!!! We took all the stuff and put them in the workshop of dad peter, we had salads and sausej. While eating and chatting we sang Arabic songs and played the durbakkeh and then they asked me to dance Arabic dancing, belly dancing!!!!!!. It was an interesting night
